Her Achievements |
Nurse Marlin revolutionized health care by initiating reimbursement for wellness care by advanced practice nurses as CEO of Primary Health-Care of Charlotte, P.A. She put the power of health care back in the hands of those receiving care versus those giving care through carbon copies of wellness assessments, fees and services determined through client questionnaires, and primary care based on her masters health education research, “A Study of the Relationship Between Health Education Delivery and a Child’s Health Self-Concept” in 1985. Her research received the 1986 “Outstanding Community Health Education Program” by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and was published in their 1986 Health and Human Services Award Manual. In 1989 this research was listed and updated with a copyrighted “Family Health Education Calendar” in the “Health Education” sub file of “Child” – The Combined Health Information Database for the United States Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia. This research was the cornerstone for her TV series “Wellness, Wholeness, and Holiness” and her Diabetic Heart Kitchen and Teen Wellness Nook.
